Ward 12 deserves pragmatic leadership. Who would you trust with your tax dollars?
Candidate for Minneapolis City Council – Ward 12
I was born and raised in Ward 12. My son goes to school here, just like I did. This community shaped me, and I’ve spent my life giving back — as an educator, a public servant, and a problem solver. I’m not just running to represent this ward. I’m running to protect it.
Minneapolis is at a tipping point. Services are struggling. Safety feels uncertain. Residents are paying more and getting less. The city budget has grown by over 60 percent, but the results on our streets and in our neighborhoods don’t reflect that. We deserve better.
That’s why I’m in this race — to restore focus, stability, and competence to City Hall.
A Grateful Moment: The Candidate Forum
I want to thank the League of Women Voters for organizing the recent Ward 12 Candidate Forum. It was a valuable opportunity for voters to hear directly from each of us — myself, Council Member Aurin Chowdhury, and candidate Edward Bear Stops.
If you haven’t watched it yet, I encourage you to view the full video and decide for yourself who brings the experience, leadership, and clarity this city needs right now.

You’ll see that the differences were clear. I bring a background rooted in classrooms, finance, and community engagement. As a teacher, a former commissioner, and a mom, I’ve lived the challenges our city faces from every angle — and I know how to navigate systems to get things done.
Safe Streets for Kids Are Safe Streets for Everyone
That line comes straight from how I see the world. My work has always centered around kids and families. When we build systems that work for the most vulnerable, we lift up the whole community. Safe streets, stable services, and strong public institutions are not luxuries — they’re the basics. And right now, we’re failing at the basics.
I hold a master’s degree in finance and another in education. I’ve led classrooms and audit committees. I’ve raised a child in this neighborhood and worked in both public and private sectors to solve complex problems. And I’ve done it without getting bogged down in slogans or ideological echo chambers.
Pragmatism Over Politics
There’s a simple question every Ward 12 voter should be asking this year:
Who would you trust with your tax dollars?
Would you trust someone who’s managed real budgets and helped real families — or someone with a political agenda and no track record of results?
This isn’t about left versus right. It’s about competence versus collapse.
I’m a pragmatist. I believe in government that works. And I believe Ward 12 is ready for real leadership again.
If you’re with me, share this post. Talk to your neighbors. And let’s bring Minneapolis back to solid ground — together.
